Els best value for TPC of Europe

He's back, and he's unbackable

He's back, and he's unbackable. Okay, so he's the world number one, but Tiger Woods doesn't always get things his own way on his regular raids on European Tour events and, at evens money, his odds for this week's TPC of Europe near Heidelberg are punitive.

On his last visit to the St Leon Rot course two years ago, Woods actually won the title and it is obviously a course he likes. He is, of course, the man to beat - but better value for money comes further down an entry list that has attracted virtually all of Europe's top players.

It is seldom you would get Ernie Els on offer as second favourite with a price of 12 to 1 about him and it could be worth a few quid. Although Colin Montgomerie hinted at a return to form at The Belfry, this may be a week too early so stay clear of him on this occasion.

Darren Clarke has a good record in Germany, where the rough is normally less severe than throughout the rest of Europe because of an environmental ban on fertilising courses, and represents decent each-way odds at 33 to 1.
