Drogheda United will be without first team regular Darren O'Keeffe for two matches over the New Year after the player was suspended by the National League disciplinary committee yesterday for reaching 20 penalty points.

The ban is likely to keep O'Keeffe out of United's important first division clash with fellow promotion hopefuls Limerick, as well as the club's FAI Cup first round game the following weekend.

Three other players were also suspended yesterday. Gary O'Sullivan (St Francis) and Liam Kelly (Shelbourne) received two-match bans, while Waterford United's young defender Tim McGrath will miss one game.
