Dobbin booked for Listen Timmy ride

Tony Dobbin is set to renew his association with Listen Timmy in the Martell Grand National on Saturday week

Tony Dobbin is set to renew his association with Listen Timmy in the Martell Grand National on Saturday week. He won the Aintree spectacular for the 12-year-old's owner, Sir Stanley Clarke, on Lord Gyllene in 1997. And he has already landed a big prize on Listen Timmy over the Grand National fences.

"It looks like at the moment I'll ride Listen Timmy for Sir Stanley Clarke," Dobbin said. "I won the John Hughes on him a couple of years ago and I rode him in last year's National.

"When Micko's Dream fell at the first I got hampered and put back to last after taking up a good position." Listen Timmy was eventually pulled up after the first circuit.

The gelding has struggled to find his form this season and Dobbin explained: "I rode him at Cheltenham and he was all right for a while but the ground didn't suit him. It was too soft for him."

Brilliant Arc and King George winner Montjeu will stand in New Zealand for this year's southern hemisphere breeding season. The five-year-old will operate as a shuttle sire at the Windsor Park Stud.

The son of Sadler's Wells was retired to stand at Coolmore at the end of last season and the move is a major coup for the New Zealand breeding industry.

Montjeu won the French and Irish Derbys as well as the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in 1999 and was one of the easiest winners in the history of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes last season.
