Dickie Murphy from Wexford has been appointed to referee the All-Ireland hurling final between Kilkenny and Offaly on September 13th. It will be his fourth All-Ireland final.
Murphy is a member of the Raparees Club and represented Wexford at senior level during his playing days. His previous senior finals were in 1992, '95 and '97. This year he took charge of the Offaly-Clare re-fixture last Saturday when Jimmy Cooney of Galway stood down after the original replay was ended two minutes early.
The minor final between Cork and Kilkenny, on the same day as the senior match, will be controlled by Gerry Devlin from Armagh. He has wide experience at senior level in the National League and the Oireachtas Cup competition.
The All-Ireland football final on September 27th will be under the control of John Bannon from Longford who refereed the Leinster final between Kildare and Meath and the All Ireland semi-final between Galway and Derry. He was in control of last year's minor final. It will be his first senior All-Ireland final.
The minor final between Laois and Tyrone will be controlled by Michael Curley from Galway. He took charge of the Kildare-Dublin Leinster final replay and last Sunday's Kildare-Kerry All-Ireland semi-final.
The names of the linesmen and umpires for all the above matches will be announced later.
