National League: Derry City continue to search for their first win in 14 games following another draw last night at the Brandywell.
Derry deserved victory after pounding the Cork City defence for most of the second half after Cork's striker George O'Callaghan had been sent off for a second bookable offence and they struck the Cork crossbar three times.
Cork got off to the best possible start after four minutes when Colin T O'Brien delivered the ball into the danger area and Kevin Doyle scored with a header.
In the 50th minute, Cork were in difficulty when O'Callaghan was sent off for reacting to a challenge from Eddie McCallion. He had been booked in the first half for a similar offence when tackled by Paddy McLaughlin.
Derry pressure paid off in the 62nd minute when Michael Holt scored with a a left-foot shot. The home side pounded the Cork defence for the rest of the game but with Dan Murray and Derek Coughlan winning everything in the air, Derry failed to make any impact.
