PATRICK CLARKE, who died suddenly last Tuesday after contracting malaria while on holiday in Kenya, was the owner of the Cleaboy Stud in Westmeath and a member of the Turf Club.

He was only 44 and will be sadly missed by his many friends in the racing industry. He was a prominent member of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association and a steward at Kilbeggan and Navan.
