DCU hold off Garda

DCU held off a late rally by the Garda Training College Templemore at Templemore.

The Garda started well with two points but a goal by Joe Gormley put DCU in control in the sixth minute and they led 1-9 to 1-4 at the interval. The Garda goal came from Eddie Brennan in the 21st minute and gave them an important lifeline.

Aidan Kenny had the final say for DCU with a last-minute point and the winners had good performers in James McDonald, Cathal Ryan, Liam McGrath, Shane Ryan and Gormley.
