Coruna miss big chance

LA LIGA: Deportivo La Coruna missed out on a great opportunity to go top when mid-table Villarreal snatched victory at the Riazor Stadium last night.

A late Garcia Roger goal was the only score of the game in which Coruna had Mauro Silva sent off in the first-half.

Barcelona were held to a 0-0 draw by Valladolid at the Nou Camp yesterday, once again failing to prove that they can perform in the Primera Liga without the injured Ronaldinho.

The Catalans are now two points behind Atletico Madrid in fifth place in the table and seven adrift of leaders Valencia.
