Cork 2-15 Kerry 1-8: It was a great afternoon for Cork football all round yesterday as the women's team blitzed Kerry to retain the TG4 Munster senior title in emphatic fashion at Fitzgerald Stadium.
Cork, who won the provincial title for the first time last year, completely dominated the game and never gave Kerry a chance as they added the Munster crown to the National League title they won earlier this season.
They led 2-5 to 0-2 at half-time. Valerie Mulcahy hit the Kerry net after 10 minutes and substitute Nollaig Cleary, who finished the game with a personal tally of 1-5, added Cork's second goal just over 10 minutes later.
It was a deficit Kerry never really looked capable of overcoming. The Kingdom only had three scorers during the entire match with their half forward line failing to register a score.
Noreen Fealey scored a second-half goal for Kerry, but ultimately it mattered little to the outcome of the game.
