The FAI appeal board has upheld the decision of the National League protest committee in relation to the Premier Division match between Cork City and Shelbourne at Turner's Cross on November 1st.

Shelbourne, who lost the match 2-1 and also had two players sent-off, had appealed the result on the grounds that Waterford referee Jimmy O'Neill failed to play four minutes of additional time as indicated by the fourth official.

The National League ruled at a meeting of its protest committee on November 12th that the match was played in accordance with association rules as directed by UEFA and FIFA and the result stands.

Republic of Ireland and Norwich striker Keith O'Neill will be out of action for at least a month after pulling a hamstring in training. He was recently placed on the transfer list at Norwich. Earlier in the season he missed 10 matches with an ankle injury and only recently has just got back into the first team.
