Vinnie Jones is reportedly planning a shock soccer comeback - with Roddy Collins's English third division basement battlers Carlisle. The hod-carrier turned footballer, turned film actor will add some muscle to the Cumbrians next week as a favour for his friend Collins.
And if the ex-Wales captain proves he has lost none of hid competitive edge, Collins is confident he can persuade the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star to sign up until the end of the season.
The Dubliner revealed: "Vinnie has agreed to play next week and we will assess his fitness and see how he feels about signing for us for the rest of the season." Jones will turn out in a friendly against Shelbourne in Dublin on Tuesday.
His return comes more than three years after his last professional game for QPR.
AC Milan yesterday sacked coach Fatih Terim and named former Juventus chief Carlo Ancelotti his replacement.
The news ends Parma's hopes of luring Ancelotti to the Tardini. It also ends Terim's stay at the San Siro after just four months and he becomes the fourth Serie A coach to lose his job this season.
