IT SOUNDS desperately Irish but demoted Home Farm just can't help scoring at the moment. Seven goals from their last three starts has sent out a stern warning to their rivals.
UCD should have won this Whitehall encounter quite comfortably after taking 3-1 lead earlier on but were made to sweat it out when veteran John Coady pulled the score back to 3-2 with a penalty.
Dermot Keely's side rode their luck earlier on with Jason Sherlock and Owen Bennis both spurning good chances and so it was, something of a surprise to see the hosts taking an early lead when, Karl Gannon directed his header past Seamus Kelly after 22 minutes following a cross from Chris Lawless.
But it was not long before UCD were back on level terms when Graham Doyle pulled down Andy Myler and Declan Fitzgerald stepped up to convert the spot kick.
And then a quick piece of anticipation on the part of Sherlock saw Robert Griffin clean through on goal and the UCD utility player made no mistake with a low shot past Robert Forde.
At this stage the students were well on top and netted their third of the game eight minutes before the break when a neat little back flick from Bennis released Griffin who again beat Forde.
