GERARD CAVLAN is out of the Tyrone team which will play Cavan on Sunday in a Division One relegation playoff at Clones after limping out of last night's training session in Dungannon with a recurrence of a leg muscle injury.

Tyrone will now have Pascal Canavan at right half forward while Seamus McCallan plays at centre forward, but is due to undergo a late fitness test on an ankle injury. Peter Canavan moves from centre forward to the left corner.

Adrian Cush, who suffered serious injuries in a car crash in France three months ago is listed among the substitutes.

Tyrone have a new midfield partnership in Jody Gormley and Vinnie Owens, and goalkeeper Finbar McConnell is recalled.

Cavan appeared to be on the crest of a wave of a revival a couple of years ago. Now they face a crucial battle for survival in the top bracket.

The Cavan selectors are confident that changes they have made, following the defeat by Tyrone in their last league outing will improve the performance of the side sufficiently to avoid relegation.

Back into the side comes Philip Kermath at right corner back. He missed out in the previous match when suffering from flu and now replaces Michael Reilly.

Also recalled is Bernard Morris at centre half back. He was not available for the last match because of suspension following a sojourn in the United States.

Aidan Connolly, who wore the number six shirt last time, moves to the half forward line. This compensates for the absence of Anthony Forde who was injured last week in the defeat by Derry in the Ulster under 21 championship.

Also in the attack, Michael Graham replaces Adrian Lambe in the left corner forward position. Graham recovers his place after injury and Lambe drops back into an incomplete list of substitutes.

The Kildare selectors have made three personnel changes to the side which defeated Donegal for Sunday's NFL quarter final against Offaly.

Long term injury victim Seam us Dowling returns to the side at left half back with Brian Fahy moving to the half forward position.

Paul McCormack has recovered from a back operation and will play at right corner forward with Eddie McCormack going to the half forward line. Johnny McDonald reclaims the left corner forward position at the expense of Eric Dockery.

The screening of great and significant matches from the past on Teilifis na Gaeilge has been a huge success and the new station has announced that extended highlights of the NFL quarter final between Kerry and Down will be shown on Sunday night (7.30).
