MIKE CATT crowned an impressive England performance as they comfortably defeated Cordoba in the opening game of their Argentinian tour last night.
Call scored 18 points, high-lighted by a breathtaking solo score when he sprinted 50 metres and caught his own kick ahead.
England captain Phil de Glanville gave his side the best possible start through a fifth. minute touchdown before second row Nigel Redman and scrum-half Kyran Bracken followed suit to establish a healthy half-time lead.
Cordoba produced some more inventive rugby during the second half but England still had more than enough in the tank for Catt and Bracken to add further scores.
England were never threatened once the skipper had pounced, Cordoba relying heavily on the boot of wing Jose Luna to keep them in the game. Yet the tourists were always one step ahead and five tries was a deserved reward for a highly accomplished display.
