Philip Cassidy, riding with the Leinster team, won the opening stage of Ras Mumhan yesterday. At the end of the 72 miles from Clonmel to Kanturk he led in Ciaran Power and Brian Kenneally with David O'Loughlin next a minute and 28 seconds behind.
