National Football League: Division Two A: Carlow manager Liam Hayes saw his side win their first league points when a late goal earned the Barrowsiders a share of the spoils at a bitterly cold Dr Cullen Park in Carlow yesterday.
Roscommon made a great start despite playing into the wind and scored the opening three points from Sennan Kilbride, Jonathan Dunning and Ger Heneghan.
However, by half-time, Carlow had edged 0-5 to 0-4 in front thanks to Patrick Hickey (3) and Simon Rea (2).
Carlow's Thomas Walsh added another after the break, but Roscommon then took control, with Karol Mannion, sub Enda Kenny and Francie Grehan giving the visitors a three-point lead.
But one last all-out effort by Carlow ended with substitute Mark Carpenter scoring the equalising goal in injury-time.
