The Waringstown wicket-keeper Jonathan Bushe has been recalled to the Ireland squad for next week's two one-day internationals against Zimbabwe at Castle Avenue, on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7th and 8th.
Bushe's return has ousted South African-born Gerard Brophy of Cliftonville and Free State, who is Ireland's current overseas player.
Brophy made his debut for Ireland against Shropshire in the recent NatWest Trophy match at Castle Avenue and also played in last week's two one-day matches against the MCC at Eglinton.
Barry Archer of The Hills, who also played in those games, is the other to fall from favour. His omission has opened the door for the Lisburn spinner Neil Doak, who made the last of his 31 international appearances in 1997.
The Australian Test star Mark Waugh is also in the 13-man squad, and is certain to play in both matches next week.
Angus Dunlop, who was not available for the MCC encounters last week, returns to the squad and resumes as captain, Kyle McCallan having taken over as skipper in Eglinton.
Jason Molins (Railway Union), John Davy (Pembroke), Ed Joyce (Merrion/Dublin University) and Adrian McCoubrey (Ballymena) were not available for selection.
Squad: A Dunlop (YMCA) capt, J Bushe (Waringstown), O Butler (Old Belvedere), G Cooke (Brigade), R Haire (North Down), P Davy (Pembroke), N Doak (Lisburn), M Dwyer (The Hills), P Gillespie (Strabane), D Heasley (Lisburn), K McCallan (Cliftonville), P Mooney (North County), M Waugh (Australia).
