Stewart CINK blew a five-stroke lead on his 27th birthday with bogeys on three of the final four holes to hand Phil Mickelson a PGA victory at the $3.3 million Colonial.

Mickelson made five back-nine birdies to match Tiger Woods with his third PGA title of the year, firing a final-round seven-under-par 63 to finish at 12-under 268 for 72 holes, two shots better than Cink and Davis Love.

Mickelson birdied the 18th hole, which made the difference that brought him the $594,000 top prize and moved him to second behind Woods on the PGA money list with $2,355,264.

"It was a great feeling seeing that putt go in and an amazing feeling to win this tournament," Mickelson said.

Needing to sink a chip on the 72nd hole, Cink came up seven foot short. He settled for a bogey and a final-round 71. Cink failed to be the second player in a row to win here on his birthday after Olin Browne did it last year.

"I felt like my game was a little like Dr Jekell and Mr Hyde," a sombre and shaken Cink said. "I just lost it. Phil didn't put a lot of pressure on me, but you can't open the door to people like that."

Love carded his fourth straight sub-70 round but had his winless drought extended to 48 tournaments and more than two years.

Nick Faldo shot a 74 to finish in next-to-last place with 290.
