Bohemians were lucky to secure a point after some courageous goalkeeping by Michael Dempsey prevented Waterford from taking the points.
Bohemians were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half time when Jamie Harris was sent off following a second booking.
Then midway through the second half, centre half Sean Meagher should have left the field after picking up a nasty knee injury. However, because the visitors had already used all three subs, he hobbled on bravely.
Bohemians had much the better of the first half but four minutes into the second half, Waterford's Derek McGrath twice forced Dempsey to turn the ball over the bar and then on 75 minutes a superb reflex save by the goalkeeper denied Barry Wood.
