Blackrock College overcame Old Belvedere in the semifinal replay of the Heineken Metropolitan Cup at Donnybrook yesterday. Old Belvedere dominated the first half, producing two tries and a conversion to give their side a 14-0 lead at the break. A rejuvenated Blackrock started the second half. After just one minute they had scored a try, then a penalty and a converted try gave them a one-point lead. Three minutes later a penalty put Belvedere two points ahead, but Blackrock replied with two penalties, a try and a conversion to seal it.
