SUBSTITUTE Andy Walker's scrambled 77th-minute strike earned Sheffield United a Wembley shot at the Premiership as luckless Ipswich suffered the agony of an away goals rule defeat in the first division play-off semi-final.

United had midfielder Nick Henry sent off for a second bookable offence 10 minutes from the end of the extra period, but they hung on bravely to go through with a battling performance that contained seven bookings.

Walker went on in place of Belarus star, Petr Katchouro, scorer of United's controversial opener, just in time to see on-loan Swede Nildas Gudmundsson head Ipswich into a 2-1 lead on 73 minutes.,

But after Jan Fjortoft's volley was ruled out for offside the 32-year old, former Celtic and Scot land striker, who cannot earn a regular place in the United attack popped up on the end of a Dane Whitehouse cross to smuggle the ball past Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright at the second attempt.
