A SCORING burst at the start of each half provided the foundation for Bellaghy's victory over St Paul's at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh, yesterday.

Within 90 seconds of the start, Joe Cassidy had tucked away a goal and lofted over a point for Bellaghy. The other Cnssidy - Damian - struck at the start of the second half with Bellaghy's second goal and the Derry champions consolidated their advantage with three more points before St Paul's rallied. Inaccurate shooting, however, ultimately proved to be their downfall.

Holders Moyle Rovers (1-10) and Clonmel Commercials (0-13) are still deadlocked in the Tipperary SF final after yesterday's replay and extra-time at Ardfinnan. At the end of normal time the sides were level - Moyle Rovers 1-5 to Commercials 0-8 - and in the extra period both sides added five points. In an enthralling clash, tempers boiled over several times and four players in all, two from each side, were sidelined by referee Paddy Russell.
