The second leg of the West Cork Senior Shield semi-final at Bantry Bay produced exciting golf, with Bantry Bay beating Skibbereen to go through to the final after a play-off that went to the third tie hole. Skibbereen led 3-2 after last week's first leg, but Bantry levelled after the second leg.
The rules ordained that the last match had to be played again. So Bantry's John Barry and Ian Kelly, who had won their match by 3 and 2, had to face Skibbereen's Dave O'Connor and Gary O'Connell in the play-off. The first two tie holes were halved with pars, but on the third, a par four, the home pairing won with a par.
