WATERFORD SHC FINAL (Replay) Ballygunner 1-17 Lismore 0-19: THE INSPIRATIONAL Andy Moloney helped Ballygunner lift their 11th title following a one-point victory over Lismore at Walsh Park on Saturday.
Ballygunner raced into an early 0-5 to 0-2 lead, mainly thanks to Paul Flynn, who scored four points from placed balls before Brian O’Sullivan got in for the game’s only goal on 13 minutes.
Maurice Shanahan landed six points to ensure the sides went in at the break level at 1-8 to 0-11.
By the 44th minute Lismore were 0-17 to 1-10 ahead, but Moloney popped over four points to leave the sides level with four minutes remaining.
Paudie Mahony scored to put Ballygunner ahead and Paul Flynn stretched the advantage. Although John Prendergast scored a late point, it wasn’t enough.
