Anne Hughes is enjoying the kind of purple patch that most golfers can only dream of. She won the gross prize on Helen Flood's captain's day at Stackstown with an excellent 36-hole total of 151 and off her new handicap of eight she then took the runners-up prize in the Class One July Medal. Not content with that she set a course record of 76 in the first round of the captain's prize at Hazel Grove where she is also a member and then teamed up with Miriam Walsh of Hazel Grove to take the second nine honours in the Open Fourball at Newlands.
