All Blacks drop Jones

Once renowned as the world's greatest rugby player, Michael Jones has been frozen out of the New Zealand squad

Once renowned as the world's greatest rugby player, Michael Jones has been frozen out of the New Zealand squad. But the 34year-old flanker, dropped yesterday from the squad for South Africa, refuses to accept it as the end of his 12-year Test career.

Centre Norm Berryman is the only newcomer despite calls for wholesale change and full back Adrian Cashmore and forward Charles Riechelmann return to the party for the Tri-Nations Test in Durban on August 15th.

Winger Ben Tune and forwards Richard Harry and John Welborn were recalled to the Australian squad for the Tri-Nations decider against South Africa in Johannesburg on August 22nd.
