WATERFORD SFC Stradbally 0-9 Ballinacourty 1-5:A POINT from Shane Ahearne in added time helped Stradbally clinch their 16th senior football title at Fraher Field yesterday.

The victors were playing catch-up for much of this game. Mark Ferncombe scored 1-2 early on to ease ’Courty four points in front.

Leading 1-4 to 0-4 at the break, they only managed one more score, a point from Gary Hurney. Stradbally’s pressure was rewarded as Shane Ahearne hit a hat-trick of frees with John Coffey and Niall Curran also notching vital scores in their comeback.
