A syndicate of 32 members of the Pines Ladies Pitch and Putt Club in Dublin will bring in the New Year in style after their quick-pick ticket won them £1.8 million in the Christmas Eve National Lottery Draw. Each of lucky members is set to receive £57,000. Committee member Anne Cahill described it as a "lovely Christmas box", which is a bit like referring to a hat-trick of holes-in-one as "a nice run in the middle of the round!"
