Sir, - With reference to James Kenny's excellent article on energy generation and conservation, at present rates, 10 per cent on Ireland's energy bill, which all the experts say is not only feasible but conservative, would yield a return of somewhere between £140 and £160 million or £150 for every household in the country, or enough to finance the building of 2,000 houses, or a major new hospital.
It is time, and not too late, to take the question of energy conservation seriously for economic and environmental purposes. - Is mise, Joe Curley,
