Sir, – Davin O’Dwyer’s excellent suggestion of bringing back the halfpenny (Weekend Review, April 7th) will perhaps be taken seriously by a future Irish Government once it has been politely asked to leave the euro zone. Might I suggest that that particular occasion be marked on a certain bridge that spans the Liffey, or would that be a Bridge Too Far? – Yours, etc,
