Sir, - Reading your editorial comment for Good Friday, I noted with interest the Government's description of the Irish diaspora as one of our greatest national resources," and its consequent plans to extend voting rights to Irish citizens living abroad (even when those citizens do not contribute in any way to Ireland's economy).
Being in the reverse position myself, as a foreigner working in Ireland, would it be utterly unreasonable to suggest that my 48 per cent tax contributions over the past five years be viewed as an equally valuable resource, and that therefore I be given the same right to vote for national representation. - Yours, etc.,
