A chara, – In your Editorial on April 17th you stated that the ASTI had placed a ban on meeting parents. This is factually incorrect. The ASTI passed a motion banning parent-teacher meetings outside of school time in protest at the levy. We are not against having staff or parent-teacher meetings, just those outside of school hours.

I was a delegate at the conference and the session was private and excluded the media, hence the inaccurate report.

As the concessions regarding meetings, etc, were brought in during the Programme for Competitiveness and Work benchmarking process, it is only right and proper that these concessions are rolled back seeing as we are taking a drop in income of 10 per cent when all levies are considered.

I regard myself as a moderate, with the best interest of my students at heart. In fairness, enough is enough. – Is mise,
