Sir, – Prof Tim Lynch seems to be utilising the “because we’re worth it” argument in defence of the salaries of Irish consultants (Opinion Analysis, October 25th). What I don’t understand is how the British NHS manages to operate with all their underpaid consultants? Don’t they know they could be making millions in America? Maybe Prof Lynch should write an article for the Guardian letting the poor British doctors know they’re worth it too. – Yours, etc,
