Sir, - Judge Harvey Kenny's (March 22nd) direction of Mayo County Council to draw up a list of indigenous travellers is a welcome move in the ongoing traveller problem. We have a civic duty to genuine indigenous travellers. Travellers who milk both sympathy and the system fall into a different category.
If all other county councils acted on Judge Kenny's directions, the present amorphous traveller problem would be clarified and as such become open to resolution. It is an opportunity which should not be allowed to pass. - Yours, etc.,
