Sir, Now that allocation of Ministries in the new government is being considered, it is an opportune time to end the existing situation whereby we have two Ministers for Transport, one for public and one for private means. A single Ministry for both would ensure that the most economic travel arrangements would be achieved by removing some of the competition between the two.
It would end the contradiction inherent in having the Department of the Environment in charge of both the environment and private vehicle taxation, as the use of these vehicles is one of the major factors in environmental damage. - Yours, etc.,
