Tony Blair's 'moral compass'

And the evidence he produces? First, he cites taking Britain into the Iraq war on factually unsustainable grounds. An odd choice, given that Mr Myers believes the war was "historically justified, particularly since that corrupt and contemptible organisation, the UN, was actually helping keep the genocidal beast [ Saddam] in power".

No mention of the tens of thousands of combatants and innocent civilians whose lives were taken in this "historically justified" adventure.

It would seem that for Mr Myers, it wasn't in the slaughter that Blair unleashed, but in telling fibs to parliament, that he displayed his psychopathy.

But far worse than the human misery that Blair visited upon the people of Iraq, indeed "worst of all", was Blair's decision to meet Irish republican leaders at his official residence with a view to advancing the peace process.

So here we have it: making war on the people of Iraq is historically justified, while making peace with Irish republicans is "utterly outrageous".
