Sir, - Dominique Tassot's astonishing response to his critics (July 25th), claims they rely on "polemic" and repeats that there is "no evidence" to support the Theory of Evolution.
Far from relying on polemic, many knowledgable contributers have dismantled Tassot's original list of arguments and pointed out that they had all been thoroughly debunked in the past. Using scientific evidence and theory to refute wildly and willfully inaccurate claims is, of course, the polar opposite of "polemic".
Tassot's failure to heed the well-expressed arguments that have appeared on this page shows clearly the process by which he came to write his original list of farcical Creationist untruths and distortions.- Yours, etc.,
