Sir, - To read John Water's diatribe about the Unionist people of Northern Ireland (September 14th) is mind-boggling.
What gives him a right to pronounce judgment on a law-abiding cultured community who have tried to live a normal life in Northern Ireland since the appalling atrocities of terrorism began?
Does he imagine his upbringing in Roscommon or wherever gives him a special insight into the thinking of Unionists? To put it in a nutshell, he hasn't a clue. - Yours, etc.,
