Madam, – I wish to compliment Rosita Boland for her informative and well-written article on the tradition of the Station Mass (Life Culture, March 11th).
As a priest ministering in a rural parish in Co Sligo, I value highly this tradition. It affords me the opportunity to visit the homes of my parishioners twice a year – in the spring and autumn – to celebrate Eucharist – truly a unique spiritual occasion. As was highlighted in her article, the Station Mass also strengths family bonds and promotes good neighbourliness and community.
