Sir, - Tom Oliver (March 12th) asks if the sight of five No. 10 buses together on Baggot Street constitutes a record. Incredibly, I think not.

On the evening of March 5th, shortly after 8 o'clock, while driving on Kill Lane towards Foxrock, I met four No. 46A buses travelling towards Dun Laoghaire, while at the same time two 46As were going in the opposite direction. This makes a total of six in one sighting, against the five seen by Mr Oliver.

Incidentally, like the No. 10 buses, the 46As also travel regularly in pairs, while more patient watchers will be rewarded occasionally by the sight of three of them travelling together in the same direction.

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on? -Yours, etc., M. D. Kennedy,
