Madam, – Friday is a popular day with the majority of people in this country and very often with good reason. But when you find yourself drawn into a very real place, a place that is all around you, but seldom seen, then the day becomes very special indeed.
With all the challenges facing the country and its people today, we all need to get a break in a quieter place where peace and harmony exist. Such a place can be found in the writings of Michael Harding. His colour piece each Friday in this paper (Features) offers the reader an opportunity to stop and see all that is around us.
For a change, not the doom and gloom we are so accustomed to, but the beauty that lies in everyday things, in ordinary people going about their daily business and that sense of honesty and caring that lies beneath. Thank you for those Friday moments I eagerly await at the end of each week.
– Yours, etc,
