Madam - Donal Moore's enquiry about competing terminals at the same airport (April 26th) misses the point. I do not subscribe to the repeated pontification by Michael O'Leary about the existing terminal being a third-world facility, but I do believe that a realistic alternative for passengers would encourage the existing operators to pull their socks up.
Perhaps a new airport built on a totally new site might be a possible solution? There are five commercial airports in London (City, Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton, and Stansted) and three in the greater Paris area (Beauvais, Charles de Gaulle, and Orly). There is no such competition in Dublin.
Following on with the fine naming tradition set by Ryanair in the past, might I suggest that it be developed at Dublin South (Wexford)? - Yours, etc.,
RICHARD BANNISTER, Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2.
