Madam, - How often we see pictures on the sports pages of close tussles for the ball where the player being pursued is having his jersey pulled by his opponent. This is referred to a tackle. Yet in Gaelic football, hurling and soccer it is a foul - one that is persistently condoned by referees and very often leads to retaliation from the offended party.
