Madam, – President Barack Obama has told the bankers in the US: “We want our money back.” Can Irish taxpayers make the same demand? Yes we can. – Yours, etc,

Madam, – Do we really need an inquiry into the banking crisis to waste time and money gathering evidence to tell us what we already know?

The findings will report as follows: bad banking management and practice; Central Bank failure; financial regulatory failure; Department of Finance failure; bad business management; and, oh yes, greed by one and all.

We should be enlightened enough to change our foolish ways today, tomorrow and every day without the benefit of a history lesson.

Or perhaps I am wrong: perhaps we need another job creation policy to keep our legal, auctioneering and accounting professions ticking over until 2020 when the next generation takes up the frenzied chase to grab the Nama properties. – Yours, etc,
