Sir, - The Garda is currently on the offensive against speeding motorists, with a large number of checkpoints countrywide. On a recent journey from Kerry to Dublin I encountered at least five checkpoints, yet I had advance warning of each of these from oncoming motorists flashing their headlights. If the Garda wants to crack down on speeding motorists more efficiently it is essential that it also crack down on motorists who warn of checkpoints. - Yours, etc.,
