Sir, - It is sad and awful to read of the latest deaths on Irish roads. One must consider that in Ireland there are nearly 400,000 drivers without a full driving licence, that speed, and drink laws are held in contempt, and that the Government seems to feel there is no problem.
This situation would not exist in the United States, where there are strict road regulations which must be obeyed.
