Madam, – Kate Holmquist is spot-on about the need for respect.
A militant informality has stripped away once decent behaviour. Fear of telling people how to behave has paralysed the transmission of culture and values. Failure to tackle rude and offensive people has resulted in loutish behaviour that diminishes us all. Maybe hard times will bring people to their senses.
What a pity that Ronan O’Gara was shown meeting Queen Elizabeth in a less than appropriate manner. – Yours, etc,
