Sir, – Gavin Barett is correct (“UK engagement with EU is central to Irish interests”, Opinion, July 9th) that Ireland “shares many policy objectives with the UK”, however your readers should be aware that of all member states in the EU, it is the UK voting record on the Council of Ministers which most differs from that of Ireland. – Yours, etc,
