A chara, – I think Donal McCarthy is overly harsh when he declares that shareholders in the bank were driven by greed (June 17th). Perhaps some were. But others were charities which invested as a way of securing an income to continue their good work into the future. And others invested as a way of supplementing their pensions in old age.
