Sir, - You recently published a letter from me drawing attention to the discharge of raw sewage from a drainage cover on to the harbour at Sandycove where hundreds of adults and children swim, eat and play on the sand. Following publication of the letter and contact with the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown sanitary department, the nuisance apparently abated, but after last Saturday's heavy rain once again obvious sewage including toilet paper bubbled on to the road and over the steps on to the sand. As I asked before: "Must we wait for an outbreak of diarrhoeal illness before some positive action is taken?" - Yours, etc.,
Dr John Fleetwood, Proby Square, Blackrock, Co Dublin.
